• How to Access Member Only Articles

    Hi all members.

When you received email updates, you may find that sometimes you will follow a link in the email and be faced with message saying the page cannot be found. This will likely be because the page is viewable by members only.

In such instances you will need to log in to the website to view the content. For example our Contacts list is private.

Instructions for logging into the website can be found here, including how to reset your password should you have forgotten it: Logging in to Nmbngee.org

A tutorial for adding your own posts to the website can be found here:

  • Nmbngee Post Office Box

As most of you will be aware Nmbngee now has a post box. The purpose of this box is for official community correspondence. It can be used by members to post official correspondence to the board (address to The Secretary) but is not intended for personal use by members.

The post box will be checked regularly but if you have anything urgent, email a board member as well to inform them there is mail waiting.

The contact page will be updated to include the postal address.

If sending to the board as an instrument use this address:

    The Secretary
    Nmbngee
    PO Box 20376
    Nimbin NSW 2480

If sending invoice or financial related information, use this address:

    The Treasurer
    Nmbngee
    PO Box 20376
    Nimbin NSW 2480

Upcoming SGM Agenda Available for Download

Hi All! I have uploaded the Agenda for the upcoming SGM this Saturday. I will have a Treasurers report including finances and state of budget at the meeting but it is basically the same as last months SGM so you can preview Treasurer’s report from that meeting if interested in our financial and budget position.

Public Access to Nmbngee Rules and By Laws

I have also made the change as agreed at the last meeting ie to make the By Laws and Rules publicly accessible. The rules and by laws can be accessed without logging in, by going to nmbngee.org, then clicking  “Living on the Farm” then “The Basics of Being a Nmbngee Shareholder”.

You can also use this link: https://nmbngee.org/living-on-the-farm/the-basics-of-being-a-nmbngee-shareholder/

  • BY LAW Updates

At the last SGM it was decided to update the Poisons section of the by-laws. Previously it was possible under the by-laws to seek permission to use round up, however members decided we no longer felt it was appropriate to use round up or glyphosate related products. Further to that, members decided that no herbicides should be used on Nmbngee.

Pesticides were considered okay in necessary cases (such as white ants).

By Laws 16a and 16b, “No chemicals (i.e. pesticides, herbicides, etc.) are to be used without permission from a Directors’ meeting” and “That the use of Roundup (using cut and paint method) be approved for the removal of groundsel, camphor laurel and privet” respectively, were removed and replaced with a sole rule “No synthetic (chemical) herbicides are to be used on Nmbngee”.

You can view and download the new By-Laws document here: https://nmbngee.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/BY-LAWS.pdf

You can view and download the minutes confirming this change here: https://nmbngee.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/20220703-SGM-Minutes.pdf

  • NEW MAPS

    Hi all fellow Nmbngeeians!

I have update the maps page with 2022 version maps. There has been a steady adding of features to the main Map of Nmbngee, including now fire trails, the location of the cemetery, and other features.

Another key addition is a high resolution aerial map of Nmbngee. I have included this as a high resolution PNG file, and as a slightly lower resolution version designed to fit 1:1 on an A3 page, which can be printed at any photocopy shop on to A3 Landscape.

Please check out the page https://nmbngee.org/members-area/office/development-plan-and-maps/ to view or download the maps, or use the links below:

  • How to Login to the Nmbngee Website

If you are a Nmbngee shareholder, you are entitled to post stories on the website and also access the private members library where you can access minutes of current and past meetings, download a copy of the Nmbngee Rules and a lot of other useful Nmbngee related information.

You can also create For Sale or For Rent posts on the website if you wish to advertise your house for sale or rent.

To get access to all these features you need a user account, which you then use to login.  Most shareholders have login accounts.  The only one’s who don’t are those who haven’t yet provided their email address to the Board.

  • Member Library Updates

Additions to  the Member Library section

The Co-operatives Act and Regulation legal mumbo jumbo is now under a heading called Government Legislation Applicable to Nmbngee.

Also added under the Government Legislation Applicable to Nmbngee section is information about Residential Tenancy law, for anyone who wants to know about their obligations and rights when renting out their houses.  This information is also being used by the board to ensure the Co-operative is abiding by applicable law regarding the rental of site 5.

    Visual Site Map Added

It’s now possible to browse the site visually with an expanded site map showing all available pages in one view. The site map is available at the top of the sidebar.
