    PROGRAM OF EVENTS

  • Nmbngee 50th Celebration date has been set!

    Nmbngee 50th Anniversary Celebration
    27th January 2024

The 50th anniversary celebration has been set for the day and evening of the 27th of January 2024.

After purchase of land and initial onsite visits in late 1973, in January of 1974, the final paper work was signed and Nmbngee came officially into existence.

More information will be upcoming as events and details are organised, but the date is set and we invite all past and present members to put this date in your calendars, and to let any past members and residents know about the upcoming celebration.

  • Picnic and Climbing at Big Dog Tree

Yesterday, we took a gaggle of kids and adults (kids at heart) out to the big dog tree where we enjoyed a picnic and climbing fest. The kids learnt about the native plants and about the effects of flooding on the environment.

    21 of us in total.

  • 2023 AGM Group Photo

50 Years ago the first members of Nmbngee met on a block of land to discuss starting their own community. Today old and new members came together to revisit the tradition of the AGM group photo.

Nmbngee 2023 AGM Group Photo silly buggers

Nmbngee AGM some time in the 1980’s.

Another Nmbngee group photo which may or may not be an AGM photo. To be honest we didn’t need an excuse for a groupie (like a selfie but for a group)

This one was one of our more interesting AGM’s. Just joking, it was for a Mainhouse Fancy Dress party!

Kids in the 80’s playing at the Mainhouse. This is the front of the house where the photo was taken today, this shows the concrete steps that used to exist there.

  • Nmbngee CRT Community Meeting

Red Cross Emergency Services invites the resident of Nmbngee to discuss the creation of a Community-led Resilience Team.

  • 2020 AGM Postponement

Hoping everyone and your loved one’s are well and staying safe from Covid-19!

AGM Postponement: This year the Office of Fair Trading has informed cooperatives that postponement of AGM’s this year due to Covid-19 is allowed, and that it is not necessary to seek official approval. So the board has elected to postpone this year’s AGM until next year. The board agreed to this measure due to the concerns that broad based participation in an AGM would not be possible even given social distancing measures.

Director positions will carry over until the AGM 2021, however anyone with concerns about the current positions or who would like to stand for or vote on Director positions before the AGM next year should contact the Board with your concerns.

You have been emailed or posted (depending on your previous preference for receiving correspondence) your ASF and Levy status current as of the 11th June 2020. Please check your email and junk mail folder if you haven’t received those emails yet. No member is facing 2 year inactive status at this time.

I have prepared a mid year report and have posted both the mid year report and the End of Year 2019 report in the meeting section of this website.

  • Notification of Potential New Shareholders

Nmbngee checking out potential new members

Forest has tenants in his place currently who wish to purchase his house and a share. They have started their six month stint and will be close to 6 months by the time of the AGM, so will possibly be on the agenda for share transfers at next yeas AGM.

Their names are Matt and Lisa. They will hopefully be in attendance at the community dinner on the 8th, and this would be a great opportunity to meet them and get to know them (and them us).

  • Meeting Notice Will be Emailed to Members

As per the decision at a recent General Meeting, the board will in future send out agendas and other communications to your email address rather than by post. The purpose of this change is to reduce postage costs and to enable the board to communicate with members more effectively.

Important – You can Opt Out if you do not wish to receive meeting notices via email:
If you wish to continue receiving agenda mailouts via post rather than email, please let the board know, otherwise future meeting notices will go to your email address.

Note: If we do not have your email address, you will continue to receive correspondence via post.

We have recently posted each member a letter explaining this and checking with you that the email address we have for you is correct.

    Access Agenda Via Website:
In future Agenda’s will also be posted on the website within the required notice period.  All members who have a website account are able to access the agenda on the website by logging in and going to the member’s library section. If you would like instructions on how to access the website, or if you currently don’t have a website account but would like one, please get in touch with us by emailing info@nmbngee.org (or call Max).

The current agenda can be downloaded here: http://nmbngee.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/20171007-SGM-Agenda.pdf

  • How to Login to the Nmbngee Website

If you are a Nmbngee shareholder, you are entitled to post stories on the website and also access the private members library where you can access minutes of current and past meetings, download a copy of the Nmbngee Rules and a lot of other useful Nmbngee related information.

You can also create For Sale or For Rent posts on the website if you wish to advertise your house for sale or rent.

To get access to all these features you need a user account, which you then use to login.  Most shareholders have login accounts.  The only one’s who don’t are those who haven’t yet provided their email address to the Board.

How Can I Get A Website Account?

If you wish to have a website account created for you, email info@nmbngee.org with your request, email address and phone number, and we will get you connected. A username and password link will be sent to your email address.

How Do I Reset My Password (for both first time and existing users)?

When your account is first created you will be sent a link to set your password, and a link to login. If you have forgotten or lost this email, you can go to the login page and click “Lost your password?” and provide your email address.  This will also generate a password link that will be sent to your email.

It will look something like this:

Username: Max     <—– this is your username

To set your password, visit the following address:

<http://nmbngee.org/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=PhsjhUNvbasj97jg8y6&login=Max>      <—– this link is your password reset link
