In 1973, several friends got together in the wake of the Aquarius Festival.  With the intent to create for themselves a community that embodied the group’s wishes and hopes for a tranquil living community where members could pursue their unique alternative ways of living without being subject to the restrictive mores and values of mainstream society.

Finding a block of land about 15 km out of Nimbin, the group agreed to go ahead, and founded one of the early communes of the Aquarius era.
